In the History of Chinese Literature and Art Supplement Feng Bing mentioned that there were six tasks of researching the history of the the supplements.But there were three main points in this paper: Firstly, researching the same supplements of causes at different times and social role. Secondly,researching the contents and form of representative supplents. Thirdly,discussting and evaluatting the editors and writers of representative supplents.This article is divided into four sections. The first chapter is the history and reform of free talking,including the causes of the Chinese newspaper supplement, the founder and history of free talking, and the significance of the reform in 1932;The scend chapter is Zhou Shoujuan period of free talking ,including the life and temperament of Zhou shoujuan, the feature during the Zhou shoujuan period, Zhou Shoujuan's "gatekeeper" features and Zhou Shoujuan's limitations;The third is reform of free talking, including the reasons of reform, Li Liewen's life, features during Li liewen, Li Liewen's "gatekeeper" features and the specific measures of reform;The fourth Chapter is the changes and impact of the after the reform, including the changes in content and form of free talking, free talking and the essay of luxun, function changes of free talking, free talking and public criticism of space.
