Nowadays, the impacts of ecological functions are playing an increasingly important role in the various deciding factors of public opinion. Especially in China, the media ecological environment is so complicated that many newspapers report the same news on exclusive ground, rather than from the point of truth. The lack of objectivity easily leads to fake reporting or inaccurate news.The current media ecological environment is the competition and cooperation between market economy and public interests. The double standard obliges mass media to grab their readers and advertisement all together. Under such circumstances, newspapers try to attract eyeballs by exclusive reporting, and consequently, having adverse effect upon the objectivity of news reporting and fair-minded public opinion.It should be noticed that the form of fair-minded public opinion are influenced by more and more factors. It is also worth mentioning that the media ecological environment is effecting public opinion much more often than before.This thesis chooses three competitive newspapers in the same city, Jinan, analyses different ways of processing news, and explores the relationship between media ecological environment and public opinion. The author hopes this paper will be helpful for related research on the relation between media ecological environment and public opinion.
