Microsoft's VC-1 video encoding technology has been widely applied to various situations, including high-definition vedio applications based on its high compression efficiency and low complexity features. Davinci Multimedia processor DM6467 SoC(System on Chip) integrates with ARM and DSP cores, high-definition video/imaging coprocessor (HDVICP), video data conversion engine and targeted video port interfaces. The primary purpose of this subject is high-definition VC-1 video encoder design, optimization and algorithm packaging, based on the DM6467 SoC,especially HDVICP. As follows:1) Mainstream high-definition video coding technology and VC-1 video encoding technology has been studied and understanded.2) High-definition VC-1 video encoder has been designed based on the the DM6467 hardware system architecture and HDVICP development methodology, and ME, MC, IPE, CALC, ECD and the LPF six sub-modules of HDVICP has been achieved3) We achieved high-definition VC-1 encoder system, including modules integration and speed optimization, making the encoder has basically reached the requirements of real-time encoding of 720p vedio sequence.4) We did VC-1 video encoder practical research, including XDAIS-DM algorithm package, and studied how the VC-1 encode algorithm can be used in Davinic software system.Experimental results show that the speed of the encoder increase 1200 times than software implementation of VC-1 reference coder, and has good compression efficiency and video quality also.It basically reaches the requirements of real-time encoding of high-definition vedio.
