In 1999, Professor Wu Aihua and etc. put forward a conceptualization, which was to build an experimental system constituted by a number of subsystems which was consituted by a number of experiments to stimulate all the IE activities in a company through one typical industry prodcution. Since then, experimental education has become the hot spot among the IE educators. Under the guidance of the thoughts, School of Management of Shandong University built both of the software environments and hardware environmenst to improve the IE experimental teaching system, and received high commendation from the educators, students and companies.Compared to the traditional teaching methods, the new IE experimental teaching system had more data. Emphasis should be laid on not only the experimental data themselves, but also the relationship between them. There are some shortcomings about the existing experimental data management sysem, such as:data's integration and sharing is not high, the lack of a clear classification of the experimental data and the standardized data processing, etc. In order to overcome the shortcomings, the IE experiment data management system research is proposed, learning from the platform position and role of PDM in the enterprise Information Integration.This research starts from of the IE experimental teaching system, re-examines the scientific and feasibility of it from two aspects:the theorical and practical application meaning, and completes the functional modeling design of the system through the IDEFO modeling tool. The model could meet the goals of traditional teaching methods, such as:developping the abilities, consolidating theoretical knowledge and training the application of IE tools and methods. At the same time, the new IE experimental system put more attention to train the system thinking of students, and provides a good platform to develop the students'the IE specialization.Through literature search, we found that although the basic functions and architecture of experimental data management system is basically the same, but there are great differences in the data. In order to design an experimental data management system which could consistent users'needs and the characteristics of applications area, the experimental data and the relationship between them should be analysised. This research collected all the data of the IE experimental teaching system, classified them and analysised the entity-relationship. The system objectives, architecture and founctions are discussed and introduce detailed designing process of two function modules.This thesis is an important part research, inculing 7 chapters:Chapter one and two, propose the sources and research significance of the research, anaylse the research present situation of IE experimental teaching and experimental data management system at home and abroad; explain the basic theory and methods related to the research and discuss the application of those theory and methods.Chapter 3, elaborate on the Experimental Teaching System of Industrial Engineering discussed in detail, point out the training objectives which should be achieved by the experimental teaching system, then demonstrate both the theoretical and practical maaning of IE experimental teaching system, finally built up the functional modeling of it by using IDEFO method.Chapter 3, analyse the experimental data. Classify the experimental data, analyse the charactors and entity relationship between different types, and set up the experimental data relationship model.Chapter 5, discuss the objectives, structure and functionsof the EDM system. Data management module and configuration management module are described as examples of system designing results.Chapter 6, design the database of the EDM system based on the fourth chapter.Chapter 7, summarize the research results, analyse the deficiencies and shortcomings of this research, and put forward the future research.
