Along with rapid development of wireless communication, embedded computation, sensor and other relevant technologies, Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) which is featured with environment perception, independent calculation and wireless transmission has developed rapidly and attracted more and more attention especially in Intelligent Building, due to its convenient deployment and simple maintenance.Network coverage is one of the importance research fields of WSN, which determines perception capability to environment of sensor network and relates closely to connection problem of network. On the condition that the perception model has been known already, whether the nodes'deployment is superior or not can bring great affect to network coverage. The number of nodes also affects the cost and performance of wireless sensor network. This paper is mainly about researching coverage problem, network connection problem and node deployment problem of WSN in Intelligent Building.Considering problems above, this paper mainly accomplished following works:1) Node perception model of WSN was analyzed and relationship between coverage and connection of WSN was determined;2) Hardware of sensor nodes was built and tested to provide relevant models with technique data;3) Linear programming model was built with objectives of fully coverage and minimizing number of nodes. The model was solved with LINGO and topological structure of the network was obtained;4) Basic dynamic equations were proposed to determine main nodes under conditions of shortest path and relevant mathematical model was built. The model was solved with LINGO and optimal deployment of main nodes was obtained;5) Situation researched was extended to three dimensions from plane analysis. Through case study of a five-storey building, universality of this algorithm in two and three dimension was interpreted. Optimal connection pattern between two floors was search by dynamic programming, optimal connection pattern between floors and optimal localization of main nodes were summarized;6) Network simulator of NS2 was used in simulation to get operating conditions of network and results were analyzed. Operating conditions of network with other coverage patterns and main node of random selection were simulated as well. Effectiveness of this algorithm was proved by comparing and analyzing results of simulation and the algorithm.
