With the development of society and growth of economy, it has been more difficult to maintain the power supply stations for mobile communication companies due to the challenges of keeping public order. The increasing number and variety of the equipments that requires human operation and maintenance also bring new challenges for the efficiency of the maintenance work, resulting from the development of power supply stations. On the other hand, the government demands that the energy consumption should be reduced by 20%. Therefore, it is urgent to minimize the energy consumption of the appliances in the power supply stations and improve the stability of them. This paper analyzes the current situation of the power supply monitoring system (PSMS) in the mobile communication networks and aims to explore the extended funtions of the PSMS to solve some practical problems in order to meet the challenges as mentioned above. The problems discussed in the paper concerns how to curb the theft in power supply stations, how to monitor the ventilation systems, and power management and monitoring. Taking into account the practicality issues, the researcher proposed an extended monitoring system, while not many extra equipments are added to the original system. The extended monitoring system integrates the theftproof system, energy-saving ventilation system and the power management system, so that it is accessible to realize the centralized monitoring and maintenance of the equipments in the power supply stations. Thus this paper proposes a practical solution to extend the current PSMS in the mobile communication power supply stations. The extended functions of the PSMS designed in the current study realize effective monitoring of the exterior equipments in order to prevent theft. The extended system incorporates the ventilation system, battery management, adjust system and assets management system. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the cost of power and realize centered monitoring and management. The system can specify the management of the base station, reduce the workload of the maintenance staff and thus improve work efficiency.
