Image intensifier is an electric vacuum device in a low illumination on the target detection and recognition. Its noise characteristics directly control observation effects and horizon, which is an important factor affecting the imaging effect. Micro-channel plate (referred to as MCP) is one of the core components of image intensifier. In the process of amplifying signal input also enlarged the noise. The theory existed generally deemed it as the main source of noise of image intensifier. Therefore, reducing the noise factor of MCP, can effectively improve the image intensifier SNR. the scene in target detection and recognition ability of the illumination image intensifier in low illumination, which is necessary.This paper based on high performance MCP research results, through the mechanism of microstructure and composition of MCP, MCP channel wall material, MCP secondary electron emission theories has analyzed micro-channel plate fixed pattern noise, electron scattering noise, ion feedback noise and scattering noise. At the same time, researches on the influence of gas mechanism of MCP vacuum degassing and MCP on its noise have been done according to the vacuum thermal desorption and electron stimulated desorption theory. Theoretical simulation of MCP vacuum heat treatment was completed with the diffusion model. By doing the research, the paper pointed out that the residual gas in the MCP is the main factors influencing MCP noise factor. Through the vacuum heat treatment and electronic cleaning, residual gas of MCP surface can be removed and the noise reduced.The use of vacuum heat treatment process of MCP residual gas measurement analysis and electronic scrubbing gas removal experiments were conducted in ultra high vacuum measurement device and the MCP integrated tester respectively, and the noise factor tester, noise factor to the stage of experimental MCP were measured, the comprehensive analysis and study on the influence of different process vacuum degassing MCP noise factor. Based on extensive experimental results, and considering the process cycle and other factors, the paper ultimately determines the MCP vacuum heat treatment and the process parameters of the electronic scrubbing push forward suitable vacuum degassing process, the noise of MCP21%lower than before degassing.
