Research On The Reform And Development In Chinese Higher Education In The New Period

Since the reform and opening up, China's higher education has experienced arapid development and made a series of brilliant achievements. Especially since thetwentieth century, higher education has been developing at a more amazing speed inboth its enrollment and scale of students. The higher education has trained anincreasing number of specialized personnel who are adaptable to the economic andsocial development.In the meantime, China's overall academic levels in highereducation and internatinal competitiveness have also been boosted, which has greatlyenhanced our comprehensive strength and completed the leap from elite education tothe popular one. Admittedly, China's higher education has made greatachievements. However, with economic and social growth, together with the newtarget and the new requirement of constructing the harmonious society, China's higereducation is not without its deep problems. Therefore, it is our responsibility toanalyze these problems and find out the cause of it, which can help us to pose betterstrategies for the higher education.Marked by the reform and opening up as the starting point, this thesis will firstreview the reform process of China's higher education and summarise its differentguiding ideologies, main tasks as well as reform objectives in different periods of thetime. Meanwhile, this thesis will present the achievements we have made since thereform of higher education and state the achievements we have made in the reformsystem, the size of the great-leap-forward development, the overall strength as wellas the comprehensive benefits. In addition, combined with the reality, this thesis willdiscuss problems caused by education concept, education fairness, education qualityand administration.Last, but not least, in view of the problems causes by the highereducation, this thesis will put forward the corresponding reform vision and do moreresearch.
