Emotion-oriented education in Chinese language teaching plays an important role in developing students'sound individuality and forming a noble character, but for such a long time the focus of attention for Chinese language teaching is on intellect-oriented education, not on emotion-oriented education. On the other hand, many students at vocational school have weariness and indifference in school, and even some teachers have little interest in the subjects they are teaching. Emotion-oriented education is ignored and lacking in humanism has become a major shortcoming in school education. So in the author's opinion, Chinese language teaching in vocational school should attach more importance to emotional teaching so that we can develop students'sound individuality and their own high professional ethics to serve the society better. Eventually that could ensure maximum employment rate of increase and help vocational education out of predicament. In a word, emotion-oriented education in Chinese language teaching has become the teaching aim as well as teaching strategies.After having taken cognitive and psychological factors into consideration, the author analyzed students'emotional condition, and did some practical research on the base of theory of emotion-oriented education in Chinese language teaching. The author also gave review of other countries'research in order to get some common points of view on how to improve students'mental health at vocational schools. This paper consists of the following parts: Chapter One talks about the implication and essence of Chinese language teaching at vocational schools briefly. Chapter Two gives a detailed analysis of students'emotion and psychology situation together with the present condition of emotion-oriented Chinese language teaching at vocational schools. Chapter three illustrates detailed measures to carry out emotion-oriented education in Chinese language teaching, including teaching stages, teaching principles and requirements for teachers.
