Strengthening The Education Of Awareness Of Civic Responsibility Of College Students

Citizen responsibility consciousness reflects people's proper recognition and appraisement of the responsibility what they assume in public life. The concept includes not only people's explicit cognition of what the responsibility is, but also includes deep insight of why they should assume the responsibility. It is one of the basic civic awareness that are emphasized in modern society. The college student is the most vigorous and ideal intellectual as well as the future of the Country and the hope of the nation. They are taking the heavy responsibility of building the socialism with our nation. This lofty mission is requiring that they must have the intense sense of responsibility, which not only to self but also to others, to our Country and society. Moreover, the education of youth responsibility consciousness is a general trend for the international education. Therefore, it is very important for our country to train citizen responsibility consciousness and bring up modern "good" citizen with active behavior ability.The education of awareness of civic responsibility of young people is a systematic project, and to strengthen the school education is the most important. Through surveying some college students in Fuzhou, my paper is summarized active and negative sides of awareness of civic responsibility among students. Besides, it goes a step further to describe the meaning of the education of awareness of civic responsibility of college students and the education principle and objective and the so on. In the end, the paper puts forward practical ways to improve the awareness of civic responsibility of college students at the present age.
