There is a decline in both quantity and quality of secondary vocational school students with the development of general high schools. Judging from surveys among teachers and academic evaluation for students, students'mathematics learning in secondary vocational schools is facing a critical situation. Secondary vocational school graduates are showing declining abilities in mathematics, which affects their career performance and increases the difficulty in their further education. As a basic cultural course in secondary vocational education, mathematics course is facing unprecedented challenges. Under the national reform of secondary vocational education, Shunde Liang Qiuju Vocational and Technical School, the author's school, started its educational reform in 2009 to change the situation. After two years'preparation and practice, students' mathematics learning has been changed in different degrees.By means of questionnaires and interviews, a survey on the status quo of mathematics learning in Shunde Liang Qiuju Vocational and Technical School, which is a key secondary vocational school in our country, is carried out. Through the survey, the author has a better understanding of the implementation of educational reform in secondary vocational schools. Based on the thorough research and analysis of students' motivation, interest, emotion, attitude, values and methods in mathematics learning and detailed comparisons about curriculum objectives, content, teaching methods and evaluation methods in educational reform, this thesis tries to find out the problems in teaching and learning and summarize the gains and losses in educational reform.At the same time, some suggestions are given based on the author's experience and practice:1. Attach importance to the links between mathematics learning in senior middle schools and that in secondary vocational schools.2. Pay attention to the cultivation of students'emotion, attitude, and values in mathematics learning.3. Develop stratified teaching.4. Combine process evaluation with summative evaluation.5. Strengthen teachers'training. The paper aims at reducing errors in educational reforms and getting effective ways of improving students'mathematics learning ability, so as to solve the problems in mathematics teaching in secondary vocational schools.
