A proper conception of learning is strongly related to the learning motivation, behavior and results. As a new and rapid developed team of the Higher Education, education on conception of learning of college students is the most important tasks and essential prerequisite for independent college. However, education in independent college still needs to explore and improve constantly both in theory and in practice. Therefore, study on that subject becomes very necessary.In this study, Pujiang College, Nanjing University of Technology is taken as an example. Studies on current status and education on conception of learning is performed. First, according to the theory of conception of learning, combined with the times, the theories of scientific conception of learning is revealed, solving the problems of "why to learn", "what to learn" and "how to learn". Additionally, questionnaire survey was applied to study the conception of learning covering learning motivation, learning content and learning methodologies. Problems and their negative impact are also analyzed.. In addition, based on the fact that student learning theory is the co-result of an individual life experience and social and cultural factors, this study analysis the cause of certain problems by taking those factors into consideration. Last but not least, with regard to the problems of conception of learning of students in independent college, this study put forward the strategies on how to establish proper conception of learning. The strategies can be divided as establishing proper learning aim, enhancing moral education, strengthening the motivation and cultivating the favorable learning environment.
