The function knowledge is the core content of the mathematics in the middle school, the function conception learning is important for the development of students' thinking ability. However, in practice, the level that students grasp the function conception is lower, and students feel difficult in learning it. In this article the function conception learning is analyzed and studied from the point of view of the dual character of the mathematics conception Meanwhile, on the base of the analyzing and studying, the thesis puts forward the learning case and the relevant teaching improvement measures.First of all, based on the psychology, this article puts forward that the mathematics conception is dual in process and object, and describes the mental order that first process, then object.The second part, the thesis describes the development process of the function conception, and analyzes the difficulty that the mankind have met when they explores the function conception and also the difficulty that students meet when they learn the function conception. It explains the process that students grasp the function conception must replay the process of the function development in history.The third part mainly introduces the normal theory of the mathematics conception learning, give us two basic modes of Conception Learning: Conception From and Conception Assimilation.The fourth part, that is the important one of the thesis, discusses detailedly the mental process of the function conception learning. The students need mental construction to learn the conception of function, which consists of the following two stages: process and object. Specially, the process stage includes initial object and scheme .All stages tell us the mental process: recognition, feedback, recognition again.
