Modal complement, one of the Chinese complement system, is a more complex complement type. It is worth studying in the syntax, semantics and pragmatics aspects. Firstly, this paper uses three-plane theory to make an ontology research of modal complement in the syntax structure, semantic structure and pragmatic structure. Secondly, we focus on modal complement sentence acquisition of foreign students of advanced stage. Then we carries on the analysis of errors and found that the highest error rate happens to "de" itself, then "de" posterior segment and finally "de" anterior segment. Our test paper investigation shows:students'command of complement sentence context background modality is the worst,then followed by semantic direction and the last is the syntax structure. What's more,the paper also survey modal complements grammar point distribution among four books elementary TCSL textbooks and found that despite the differences in the use of modal complement concepts and internal classification differences in the complement system, the primacy of the interpretation of the modal complements is in common. Last but not least, based on foreign students'acquisition law we learn from the survey, this paper would provide some suggestions on modal complements daily teaching and practice Settings, hoping to help in modal complement teaching job.
