With the demand for blood rocketing in the short term in disaster areas after an unconventional emergency, the amount of warehoused blood in the blood station will increase in large quantities, leading to the emergency blood inventory management facing the challenge of blood discard. Furthermore, because of the substitution supply relationships between the four types of blood, type A, type B, type O and type AB, the pressure of the emergency blood inventory management becomes more serious. After the unconventional emergency, the primary problem of the related regulatory agency is to determine the collection quantity of the emergency blood to ensure the high disaster relief service level and to develop the collection plan for different blood types.Although there have been a lot of research literatures specific to the blood inventory management, most of the previous literature researches established blood inventory simulation or mathematic models for the retinue conditions, taking the cost as target function. Based on the different researches focusing on the blood inventory management and control problems between unconventional emergency and routine conditions, this thesis will focus on the issue of the blood collection volume. This study was supported by Major Research Plan of National Natural Science Foundation of China (No.90924012), which is named "Blood Support System Design and Its Collaborative Optimization Models for Responding to Unconventional Emergency".First of all, this paper establishes a multi-period optimal dynamic collection model on the premise of ensuring a certain level of relief security to reduce the emergency blood scrap rate. It is based on the combination forecast method of demand at relief time and the inventory control strategy such as periodic review method, fully considering the capacity constraint, maximum blood collection volume, emergency blood target stock level (TSL) and remaining shelf life. An appropriate genetic algorithm is designed and the influence of the optimal collection capacity affected by parameter TSL,M and S has been further discussed through a numerical example.Secondly, to deal with the optimal emergency blood collection volume with multi-blood types in the unconventional emergency, this paper establishes a multidimensional dynamic programming model with multi-blood types, considering multi blood types arrangement in the state on the premise of guaranteeing emergency blood supply, in order to reduce the blood scrap rate. Also a corresponding genetic algorithm is designed. And in view of substitution among different blood types, this article discusses the different outbound strategies. A strategy quality analysis is done with the real data of "5.12Wenchuan" earthquake. Finally, this paper reviews and summarizes the research work, offering some suggestions of the inventory management and control for blood collection and supply institutions in unconventional emergency, and prospects the future direction of this problem.
