ObjectiveThe aim of this study is to explore the correlation between personality traits and clinical efficacy in patients with depression.Assess the impact of personality on treatment outcome and predict the outcome of antidepressant treatment in clinical work.MethodsIn this study, a total of 80 depressive patients were selected. demographic data including gender, age, level of education, occupation and so on were collected. All subjects completed the Revised NEO Personality Inventory (NEO-PI-R), which was a self-report questionnaire designed to assess the personality traits. Past studies had shown that dimension and facet traits in this questionnaire could be validly and reliably assessed in psychiatric patients. In this questionnaire, the scores for 5 higher-order personality dimensions-Neuroticism, Extraversion, Openness, Agreeableness and Conscientiousness.According the gender scores in "Relility and Validity of the NEO-PI-R in mainland China"as norms divided into two lower-order facet traits under each domain were tabulated. The results were input into a computer after being collected and arranged. All available data were analyzed by SPSS16.0. The analysis methods included descriptive analysis,t-test, repeated measurement data analysis of variance.Results1. The score reduced rates of HAMD were significantly higher in medicine combined cognitive behavioral therapy groups than those in medicine therapy single groups at the end of 4th,6th,8th weekend. There were significant differences between the two groups.2. The score reduced rates of HAMD in lower N dimensions, higher O dimensions and higher A dimensions were significantly higher in medicine combined cognitive behavioral therapy groups than those in medicine therapy single groups as time changes.Conclusion1. The medicine combining cognitive behavioral therapy should be effective in treatment of patients with depression.2 Personality traits may predict clinical outcome in depressive patients, The score in lower N dimensions, higher O dimensions and higher A dimensions have better outcomes in medicine combined cognitive behavioral...
