The dissertation consists of two sections. The first section dealt with the chemistry of the natural resources of Berchemia lineata (L.)DC. From it, a total of 9 compounds were isolated and identified by the spectroscopic and chemical methods. Among them,6 compounds were all firstly obtained from such plant. In the second section, we reviewed the denvelopment of Berchemia Ramulus in recent years, including the chemical constituents and its bioactivities.Berchemia lineata is the root or the entire of Berchemia lineate (L.) DC, Rhamnaceae, bitter & bland, having the effects of hemostasis, odynolysis, preventing cough, eliminating stasis, dispelling dampness, and detumescence etc.; and can be used to cure various types of inflammatory diseases.Ascertain the effectiveness of analgesic activity at various extraction positions based on measuring the response time of pain sensation of the mice by stopwatch, taking the mice metapodium as the index. Separate the constituents of ethyl acetate from alcohol extracts of the Berchemia lineate. by means of multiple chromatographic technique (silica gel, ODS, Sephadex LH-20); and identify the compounds produced from separation by making use of various spectrum methods (MS & NMR). Totally 12 compounds are obtained from separating the ethyl acetate part, among which,9 compounds have been identified, i.e.:quercetin (1); isorhamnetin (2); quercetin 7- methyl ether (3); emodin (4); ehrysophanol (5); physcion(6); frangulin A (7); isoarborinol (8) andĪ²-sitosterol (9); thereinto, No.2, No.3, No.4, No.5, No.7 and No.8 compounds are all firstly obtained from such plant.Berchemia Ramulus is a kind of native medicine commonly used in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and ethnic minority area in Southwest China, and according to an investigation, the frequently-used folk Berchemia lineate originates from stem, vine or/and root of four plants of the Berchemia genus. Modern pharmacological experiments demonstrate that Berchemia Ramulus has the functions of anti-tumor, anti-inflammation and analgesia etc. This article presents an overview on main chemical constituents and pharmacological effects of these plants of Berchemia Ramulus in domestic and oversea researches, so as to provide with a basis for its development, utilization and further research.
