Objective To study the expressions of Annexinâ…¡, Ceacam1 and Stat6 in gastric adenocarcinoma, and analyze there association with the clinicopathological parameters of gastric adenocarcinoma. To initial explore the potential functions of Annexinâ…¡, Ceacam1 and Stat6 in the carcinogenesis and progression of gastric adenocarcinoma. Methods TaqMan probe-based Real time PCR was used to detect the expressions of Annexinâ…¡,Ceacam1 and Stat6 mRNA in cancer tissue and corresponding para-cancer tissue in 50 cases of gastric adenocarcinoma; Immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expressions of Annexinâ…¡, Ceacam1 and Stat6 protein in cancer tissue in 70 cases and corresponding para-cancer tissue in 41 cases of gastric adenocarcinoma. Results Real-time PCR analysis showed that the relative level of Annexinâ…¡, Ceacam1 and Stat6 mRNA was significantly higher in gastric adenocarcinoma than in its paired para-cancer tissue(P<0.01). Expressions of Annexinâ…¡, Ceacam1 and Stat6 mRNA was significantly associated with phathologic differentiation grade(P<0.05). The expression of Stat6 mRNA was significantly associated with lymph node metastasis (P<0.01). The results of immunohistochemical showed that , The positive expression rate of Annexinâ…¡, Ceacam1 and Stat6 protein in gastric adenocarcinoma was 48.6%, 54.3% and 51.4%, whereas the positive expression rate of Annexinâ…¡, Ceacam1 and Stat6 protein in corresponding para-cancer gastric mucosa was 24.3%, 31.7% and 29.3%. Significant differences of expressions of Annexinâ…¡, Ceacam1 and Stat6 protein among gastric adenocarcinoma and para-cancer gastric mucosa(P<0.05). Expressions of Annexinâ…¡, Ceacam1 and Stat6 protein was closely related to the histological grade (P<0.05). Expressions of Annexinâ…¡and Stat6 protein was closely related to T stage (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Expressions of Stat6 protein was closely related to lymph node metastasis (P<0.01). The positive correlation between the expression of Annexinâ…¡protein and the expression of Ceacam1, Stat6 protein was found(R=0.375, 0.315, P<0.01).Conclusion Our results demonstrated that Annexinâ…¡, Ceacam1 and Stat6 may be closely related to the histological grade, T stage and lymph node metastasis of gastric adenocarcinoma. They may play crucial roles in tumorigenesis and progression of gastric adenocarcinoma.
