1.Literature ReviewsChronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a disease which has the characteristic of airway airflow limited. The airflow limitation is not completely reversible, progressive development. It has a contact with the harmful particles or harmful gas inflammatory reaction.The 2006 edition of GOLD pointed out COPD is not only a simple lung disease.lt has many significant extrapulmonary effect.Osteoporosis is one of the pulmonary effects. Osteoporosis can cause lung function further down either. Now the pathogenesis of how the COPD cause osteoporosis is still unknown. But many domestic and foreign researches have discussed the causes. It may has the relationship with Bad habits, some adverse effects caused by COPD,Glucocorticoids use etc. Now the treatment of osteoporosis effect is not ideal.The treatment of Traditional Chinese Medicines (TCM) in osteoporosis takes a big advantage.COPD belongs to TCM "lung distension","dyspnea". We think the pathogenesis of COPD is "ben xu biao shi". Lung Qi deficiency is the main cause of COPD.Then Lung Qi-deficiency causes kidney-deficiency. Kidney-deficiency may be the main cause of osteoporosis.So "kidney-deficiency" may play an important role in COPD secondary osteoporosis.2.PurposeBy the research of the correlation COPD secondary osteoporosis with kidney deficiency.We will provide the scientific evidence for the therapeutic principle of "filling kidney".3.Methods:Adopted cross-sectional survey, Select the patients with COPD from September 2010 to March 2011.Survey general information, personal history,past medical history, physical and chemical indexes, SGRQ score, pulmonary function examination, BMD examination, TCM syndrome and so on. 4.Results:The number of COPD patients who merger osteoporosis is 38.The rate of COPD merger osteoporosis is 70.37%. Kidney deficiency and COPD merger osteoporosis shows a high correlation.In the patients who merger osteoporosis, kidney Qi deficiency syndrome is the main type. In the patients who merger severe osteoporosis, kidney Yin deficiency syndrome is the main type.In 54 cases,32 cases of men, women accounted for 22 cases. The female has a far higher proportion than the male.Gender shows marked differences. As the patients getting older and older, the number of patients increases. The clinical course and osteoporosis degree don't have a significant relationship. With the severity of COPD increases, the incidence of osteoporosis rises.With the patient's FEV1 % value gradually reducing, the average Score SGRQ increases gradually. In the same lung function level, the patients'SGRQ Score who merger osteoporosis is always higher than the patients who unincorporated osteoporosis.5.Conclusions:This clinical study shows COPD merger osteoporosis and kidney deficiency appear to be highly relevance. Patients with COPD merger osteoporosis is a ratio of 70.37%,which is higher than previous researches. COPD secondary osteoporosis has a certain relationship of gender, age, duration, degree of lung function.But the small sample sizes, the patient range limited can affect the research's final result, which still needs further improvement. This survey results show that Osteoporosis is an extrapulmonary effect we can not be ignored.In the future, we should pay an attention at secondary prevention.
