| Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease(COPD)is a pulmonary disease with the character of restriction of air flow.The restriciton is incomplete reversibleand it progresses continuously.Although the definite cause of the disease is not very Clear,the relationship between the abnormal inflammatory reaction to the harmful gas and harmful granular in the lung and the disease is considered. In this research,we first summarize the former research of the study to the COPD with Traditional Chinese Medicine method and the correlationstudies between the pathogenesis of COPD and cytokine . Based on the sum up of former Clinical experience and literature,twelve kinds of syndrome the diagnose standard of them are established. In the next place ,the table for COPD Clinical observation was establishmed according to correlative standard.We collected fifty-nine cases of COPD and record their Clinical symptoms in the aggravating period and relieving course, then we analysised their characteristics of symptom and syndrome of Traditional Chinese Medicine. We also dicuss their characteristics of syndrome of Traditonal Chinese Medicine with the severity of COPD. At the same time,the correlation between severity of COPD , syndrome of Traditional Chinese Medicine and IL-8,TNF-a ,blood routine examination ,blood gas analysis ,K ,Na,Cl and the grade of life quality is also discussed. In addition ,the correlation between the occurrence probability of "phlegmheat syndrome" ,"blood stasis syndrome" and indes is studied with the method of Logitic regression analysis. The result of syndrome study show us that,the aggravation period of COPD is a period that the patient's condition becomes worsened because of the affection by exopathogen,based on the deficiency of lung spleen and kidney,then the ins and the outs that the gelation of exogenous pathogenic factors,phlegm,phlegm heat,excessive fluid and blood sludging with the deficiency of lung qi,spleen qi,kidney qi and the insufficiency of lung yang,spleen yang,kidney yang comes forth. The main exces syndromes appear in the aggravation period is blood stasis syndrome,phlegm heat in lung syndrome,exterior cold but phlegmheat in lung syndrome,accumulation of phlegm dampness in the lung syndrom,invasion of the lung by wind –heat syndrome,auqa invade the lung and heart syndrome in turn.The deficiency syndrome is insufficiency of the lung qi syndrome ,insufficiency of the spleen qi syndrome,insufficiency of kidney yang syndrome ,deficiency of the kidney yin syndrome and so on in turn, and there is no overvious difference of these syndrom's occurrence frequency between the different grade of COPD, as the statistics result shows. The main representation in the relieving course of COPD is the deficiency of qi ,insufficiency of yang,deficiency of yin in the lung,spleen and kidney,with the blood stasis and accumulation of phlegm wetness in the body,and the deficiency syndrome gets the run upon. According to the occurrence frequency,the syndromes appear in the the relieving course are insufficiency of the lung qi syndrome,insufficiency of kidney yang syndrome ,deficiency of the kidney yin syndrome,insufficiency of the spleen qi syndrome and deficiency of the lung yin syndrome in turn.The execss syndromes are blood stasis syndrome,phlegm heat in lung syndrome and accumulation of phlegm dampness in the lung syndrome.Although there is some difference of the incidence of deficiency syndrome between the different grade of COPD,the incidence of deficiency of qi and insuffciency of yang is hyper than dificiency of yin. After statistics analysis of the result of blood preparation and the grade of life quality,it shows that , the aggravation period of COPD is a period that the patient's condition becomes worsened because of the infection.Because of the infection, the ventilation dysfunction of the lung becomes worse,hypoxia and hypercapnia emerge or become worse,the metabolic process of K,Na,Cl and the life quality of the patients are also affected obviously.
