Medicinal Resources Evaluation Of Orthosiphonari Status And Herbal Arundinae In Dai Medicine

Dai medicine is one of China's four famous folk medicine. Dai medi- cine resource is the material basis of clinic and the development of Dai medicine industry. Orthosiphonari Status and Herbal Arundinae are co- mmonly used material with good clinic effect and detoxification characteristic. The developed Dai medicine products such as Shencha Tea Bag and Compound Yajie Tablet, have gained good economic benefit and social benifit. But with the development of Dai medicine, it faces a num- ber of several challenges such as lack of wildlife resources, lack of quality control and difficult selection of improved breeds. These problems di- rectly affects the sustainable ultilization of Dai medicine resources. Therefore, understanding of Dai medicine resources, selection of species and habitats, establishing a scientific and reasonable quality standard will be an important way of optimizing and promoting the sustainable use of Dai medicine resource.Quality control items such as character, identification, inspection, determination of extraction, content determination and fingerprint analysis were investigated. The items of character, TLC, moisture content examination(≤12.0%), water soluble extraction(≥15.0%) are consistent with current standards. The other items of n-butanol extraction(≥1.70%), rosmarinic acid determination (≥0.10%), ursolic acid determination (≥0.10%), chromatographic fingerprints are new indexes and reco- mmendations for standards. Orthosiphonari Status with purple flower is better than that with white. Orthosiphonari Status from Xishuang banna(Mengla County) has good effect on chronic nephritis. Based on the results of chromatographic fingerprints, Orthosiphonari Status samples from Menghai County, Fujian Province, Hainan Province, of Xishuang banna have higher qulity.Quality control items such as character, identification, inspection, determination of extraction, content determination and fingerprint analysis were investigated. The items of character, TLC, moisture content(≤12.0%), water soluble extraction(≥10.0%) are consistent with current standards. The other items of the ethylacetate extraction(≥1.15%), total flavonoids determination (≥1.20%), chromatographic fingerprints are new indexes and recommendations for standards. On the whole, the quanlity of Herbal Arundinae from Yunnan Province is better than that from Laos. Herbal Arundinae from Xishuang banna(Menghai), Jinghong and Pu'er area has better effect on oxidation and tumor. Based on the results of chromatographic fingerprints, Herbal Arundinae from Pu'er , Baoshan, Menghai, Dehong, Jinghong has good quality.
