Study On Resource Survey And Quality Evaluation Of Acorus Tatarinowii Rhizoma

Objective:Acorus tatarinowii rhizoma was decribed as the dry rhizome of Acorus tatarinowii Schott in reference 2015 edtion of Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China.In recent years,the wild resource of Acorus tatarinowii rhizoma was declining and the output also showed a downward trend.Acorus tatarinowii rhizoma was not only confusing varieties in the market currently but also lack of uniform quality standards and quality evaluation methods,which seriously restricted the further development and utilization of Acorus tatarinowii rhizoma.However,there is an urgent need to study the resources and quality evaluation of Acorus tatarinowii rhizoma.The aim is to provide a reference for the rational development and utilization of resources,the safety and effectiveness of clinical medicine and the establishment of quality standard of Acorus tatarinowii rhizoma.Methods:Firstly,the.the history of Acorus tatarinowii rhizoma was clarified and distinguished from other similar herbs through the textual research and modern literature research.Secondly,based on the field investigation,consultation and market survey,the resource status,distribution characteristics and the classification of specifications of Acorus tatarinowii rhizoma were found out.Finally,the quality evaluation of Acorus tatarinowii rhizoma was identified by apparent traits,thin layer chromatography method,the fingerprints established by gas chromatography combined with mass spectrometry(GC-MS)and determination of the volatile oil content and the content of ?-asarone and a-asarone.Results:(1)Herbal textual research:?The earliest records of Acorus tatarinowii rhizoma with the name "Chang Ben" appeared in "Zhou Li � Yi Li",and the name of "Shi Chang Pu"first appeared in "Ri Hua Zi Ben Cao" at the times of Five Dynasties.?The source and clinical application of Acorus tatarinowii rhizoma was almost identical between ancient and modern.But it was easily confused with several different species in Acorus calamus L.?The main producing region of Acorus tatarinowii rhizoma was Shanxi and Sichuan province in ancient times,but in modern times was Sichuan,Jiangsu and Zhejiang province.(2)Resources survey:?Acorus tatarinowii rhizoma is mainly distributed in the southern provinces of the Yellow River Basin in our country.At present,the main producing region is Sichuan province and Fujian province has large reserves.?Acorus tatarinowii rhizoma was mainly wild and not yet achieved large-scale cultivation.In recent years,the wild resource of Acorus tatarinowii rhizoma was declining,and the quality and yield were also decreasing.?The mostly available Acorus tatarinowii rhizoma is decoction pieces in the market which without grades of mixed goods,but there are many problems,such as large price fluctuation,uneven quality,its adulterants and so on.(3)Quality evaluation:?The result of the quality evaluation of Acorus tatarinowii rhizoma is better for the thick,strong and solid rhizome by apparent traits.?Due to different batches,there were significant differences in quality of Acorus tatarinowii rhizoma.?The contents of the volatile oil and the contents of ?-asarone and ?-asarone all reached the highest value for Acorus tatarinowii rhizoma situated in Minhou County,Fujian Province in July.?There were significant differences in appearance and chemical composition between Acorus tatarinowii rhizoma and Acorus calamus rhizoma.Conclusion:?Acorus tatarinowii rhizoma has been used in traditional Chinese medicine since the Western Zhou Dynasty.The source and clinical application of Acorus tatarinowii rhizoma was almost identical between ancient and modern.?The mostly available Acorus tatarinowii rhizoma is decoction pieces in the market which without grades of mixed goods,and the main producing region is Sichuan province,the Yellow River to the south of the other provinces also produce.?Acorus tatarinowii rhizoma is better for the thick,strong and solid rhizome.The contents of ?-asarone and a-asarone all reached the highest value for Acorus tatarinowii rhizoma in July.
