Objective:The aim of this study was to explore the correlation among TCM blood stasis syndrome score, lumbar bone mineral density of primary osteoporosis and ApoE gene polymorphism to provide better theory reference as well as an effective therapy of combined traditional Chinese and western medicine on osteoporosis of elderly men.Objects and Methods:①BMD by dualenergy X-ray absorptionmery (DEXA) of the anteroposterior spine(L1~4) and total femur were measured in people of health check-up in Fujian Provincial Hospital between July of 2009 and December of 2010. All the patients were divided into normal group, osteopenia group and osteoporosis group according to T>-1.0,-2.5<T≤-1,T≤-2.5.②ApoE genotypes were extracted by PCR and sent to the company to test the genotypes:ε2/2,ε3/2,ε3/3,ε4/2,ε4/4,ε4/3;②Standards for the blood stasis according to "Marking standards for blood stasis diagnosis" of Keji Chen; 4. Value the correlation among the blood stasis, ApoE gene polymorphism and lumbar bone mineral density.Results:(1)From the 120 elderly men of 60-80 years old ancestral home Fuzhou and are Han Nationality, the distribution of Apoε4 three allelic genes (Apoε2,ε3,ε4) has no significant differences among the BMD groups (Rε2=0.5000, Rs3=0.4925。Rε4=0.5880,95 percent of CI among the three groups overlapped). (2)Whether or not a patient carriesε4 shows no statistically significant differences (Z=-1.176,p=0.239). (3)The range of BMD decrease was positively correlated with the range of blood stasis(Spearsman coefficient of rank correlation=0.392, approximately p=0.000). (4)The blood stasis of an s4-carrier patient is higher than that of a patient withoutε4 gene (Z=-5.075, approximately p=0.000). (5) The weight index between BMD groups show no differences and thus have no statistical significance but the age shows the differences. (6) The CHOL,LDL-C,TG,HDL-C between different BMD groups has statistical significance(p<0.05); LDL-C has significant differences between different BMD groups(p<0.01). (7)Age and low density lipoprotein hematic disease are the risk factores of BMD decrease.Conclusion:(1) Blood stasis is a physiologic state of elderly men, and as the age increases, it may transform into a pathologic one with the stimulus of some factors. Blood stasis is an resk factor of spine BMD decrease. Therefore, it needs to activate blood and regulate blood stasis in preventing osteoporosis. (2) Because of the limited number of samples, the correlation between Apoε4 allelic genes and BMD decrease is still unknown, but the fact that a patient with Apoε4 allelic genes is positively correlated with his blood stasis shows that whether a patient carries s4 or not is correlated with his osteoporosis blood stasis. (3) Age and low density lipoprotein hematic disease are the risk factores of BMD decrease; lipid levels play an important role in the disease process of BMD decrease patients.
