Clinical Study On Correlation Among TCM Blood Stasis Syndrome Score,Serum Total Homocysteine And Bone Mineral Density (BMD) In Elderly Men

Objective:The aim of this study was to explore the correlation among TCM blood stasis syndrome score,serum total homocysteine level and bone mineral density(BMD) in elderly men.Objects and Methods:Serum levels of tHcy(by Latex enhanced nephelometry),BGP,PTH (by chemiluminescent immunoassay) and BMD[by dualenergy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA)]of the anteroposterior spine(L1～4) and total femur were measured in 109 elderly men aged over 60years.All the patients were divided into osteoporosis group,osteopenia group and normal group according to T=-2.5;-2.5＜T=-1;T＞-1.standards for blood stasis and "Marking Standards for Blood Stasis Diagnosis" of Keji Chen,a card was designed to value the blood stasis of 109 cases.Results:(1) The rate of femur senile osteoporosis is higher than lumbar in elderly man(z= 2.68,p=0.000).(2)The osteoporosis group,osteopenia group,and normal group having no significant diferenees in serum levels of tHcy(P＞0.05).(3)Theosteoporosis group,osteopenia group,and normal group having significant diferenees in TCM blood stasis syndrome score(F=18.365,P=0.000;F=53.350,P=0.000).(4)TCM blood stasis syndrome score(r=-0.405, P=0.000;r=-0.716,P=0.000),age(r= -0.327,P= 0.001;r=-0.601,P=0.000)was negatively correlated with BMD of anteroposterior spine(L1-4) and total femur,TCM blood stasis syndrome score was positively correlated with age(r=0.724,P=0.000).tHcy was no rectilinear correlation with BMD of anteroposterior spine(L1-4) and total femur.(5)Ca and TCM blood stasis syndrome score were independent factors for predicting the BMD of anteroposterior spine(L1-4),Weight and TCM blood stasis syndrome score were independent factors for predicting the BMD of total femur.Condusions:1.blood stasis was a pathologic state of elderly man,aggravating with age,and was one of etiopathogenesis of osteoporosis,using the method of promoting blood circulation to remove blood stasis is possibly helpful to prevent and cure osteoporosis.2.There was no rectilinear correlation with BMD of anteroposterior spine(L1-4) and total femur.The relationship between tHcy and osteeporosis fractures may be independent of BMD and others risks of osteoporosis.3.Ca and blood stasis were independent factors for predicting the BMD of anteroposterior spine(L1-4),age and blood stasis were independent factors for predicting the BMD of total femur,the interaction of Ca and weight has more positive effect on...
