Ocular muscle paralysis diabetes is the cranial neuropathy which is one of the complication of the nervous system diabetes. Peripheral nerve in diabetic nerve system is mostly affected, followed by plant nerve, cranial nerve involvement is rare. Therefore, few research reported to this. Due to the change of modern way of life, patients with diabetes increase yearly, and with the deepening understanding of the disease, improved detection technology and the promulgation of the new standard for diagnosis of diabetes, the diagnosis rate of ocular muscle paralysis diabetes also subsequently increased. This study under the traditional Chinese medicine theory combined with clinical research and article. By comparing its efficacy, the effectiveness of acupuncture treatment of this disease, rationality and security, provide an objective basis.Object:To observe and evaluate clinical effect, safty, rationality of acupuncture combined medicine on ocular muscle paralysis diabetes, and study effective and safe therapies for this disease.Method:Cases source:60 cases of ocular muscle paralysis diabetes diagnosed by Beijing LuHe Hospital.Time:2007.12-2011.1Design:60 patients were randomly divided into an acupuncture group and a control group. They were diagnosed as ocular muscle paralysis diabetes and the courses for disease within 15 days of all. Patients in the control group were treated only with medication, and patients in the acupuncture group treated with medication on the basis of acupuncture.Medicine treatment:Medicine:VitaminB1(skin test),1.5mgCobamamide (muscle note), once-daily (10 times one period of treatment)Groups treatment:1.Control group:Patients were on medicine treatment.2. Acupuncture group:Patients were treated by acupuncture at different acupoints accordingto different paralytic muscles of eyes with adjuvant acupoints selected according to symptoms:Acupoint:â‘ Partial acupoints:Oculomotorparalysis:SL1. First of all measurement data for normality test, with normal distribution of data, described by the standard deviation of the mean between the two groups compared using independent sample test used for non-normally distributed data, using rank test.Results;1.Patients in different groups compared:the total effective rate of 93.33% in the acupuncture group and 63.3(?)in the control group. Between the acupuncture group and western medicine group the total effective rate X2= 9.54 P<0.05. that total effective rate were statistically significant differences in treatment. The efficacy of the treatment group was significantly better than the control group.2. Acupuncture group and control group before and after the fasting and 2-hour postprandial blood glucce. the difference had no significant (P> 0.05). and the difference between the two groups b(?)re and after treatment no significant (P> 0.05).3. O(?)erved in this case found in the younger, shorter duration of effect of the better tendency, (?)he sa(?)ple size is too small, without making statistical(?)elusion:1.Ocular muscle paralysis diabetes tends to occur in older patients with diabetes, the average age of 66.2 in the gourp.2.Collec(?) 60 cases of diabetes in patients with ocular muscle paralysis more men than women, the prevalence of diabetes may be more men than women, but what little of the observed cases, not for research..?.More acute onset of the disease, mostly for unilateral disease, occasionally eye disease who were (?)d in this collection to the eye disease cases.4. Patient with complex regarded as the first symptoms, some patients with eye pain or headache, a few days disappear spontaneously.5.Ocular muscle paralysis diabetes most likely involves the oculomotor nerve, followed by the abducens nerve, trochlear nerve less likely involvement.6. Ocular muscle paralysis caused by diabetes more than the pupil will not be affected, the observation of patients with bilateral difference between the pupil diameter is less than 1.5mm.7.The incidence of diabetic ophthalmoplegia and recovery rate and blood glucose level, duration of diabetes does not parallel relationship.
