The essay has mainly three parts- general explanation of classical documents,investigation and clinical research.General Explanation of classical documentsIn the general explanation of classical documents, firstly, based on the study of the theory of modem medicine on urticaria and the documents of basic research, it leads to the understanding of the causes, mechanism and treatment of urticaria in western medicine.Secondly, it reviews and analyzes the understanding of the name of urticaria, as well as its causes and mechanism in Chinese medicine, also, it presents the summary of varies types based on traditional differentiation of syndromes and signs, differentiation of Zang-Fu, and differentiation of the six channels, such as, wind-cold type, heat in blood and excessive wind, inconsolidation of defensive Qi (Wei Qi), dysfunction of the spleen in transport, wind caused by blood stasis and wind caused by deficiency of blood. In the treatment of chronic urticaria there has been no such method concluded based on the theory of time tendency for improvement of Yangming Channel in Treatise on Febrile Diseases.Thirdly, it states the foundation of the theory of time tendency for improvement of Yangming Channel in Treatise on Febrile Diseases in applying to cure the chronic urticaria.In investigation, a survey was made among the clinical chronic cases with fixed time of on-setting of the disease or fixed time of deterioration of urticaria in Dermatology Department in Guang An Men Hospital from 9,2009-2,2011. The clinical information about 79 cases was obtained by inquiry, questionnaire and physical exams. Statistics show that most of the on-setting and deterioration of the cases were at the time tendency for improvement of Yangming Channel.The purpose of clinical research is to evaluate the theory of time tendency for improvement of Yangming Channel in Treatise on Febrile Diseases and the clinical effect on the chronic urticaria treated with Baihu Decoction and Tiaowei Chengqi Decoction before and after the treatment, so as to provide new clinical therapy.MethodThe method is to study the cases with chronic urticaria at the time tendency for improvement of Yangming Channel in clinic from 9,2009-2,2011. The cases are selcted according to the criteria with detailed record and evaluation before the treatment. The treatment is 7 days, and the data of the damaged skin symptoms including the itching symptoms, number and size of the urtica, erythema, the damaged skin and the effect of treatment are counted in.Result40 cases are treated,23 males and 17 females, average age 41.55±15.15, average on-setting age is between 36-60, the course is 2-6 months.The statistics show great significance in comparison with the symptoms before treatment,7 days and 14 days after treatment.Conclusion:The treatment with Baihu Decoction and Tiaowei Chengqi Decoction based on the theory of time tendency for improvement of Yangming Channel in Treatise on Febrile Diseases has obtaines better effects, which as important reference, has provided a fresh way of thinking for the treatment of urticaria in clinical practice.
