Objective:To investigate the exprssion of p16,p53 in the oncogenesis and progression of oral multiple primary squamous cell cancers.Methods:21 samples of oral multiple primary squamous cell cancers and 30 samples of oral leukoplakia were collected. The exprssion of p16,p53 in the above-mentioned samples was investigate by immunohistochemistry.Results:1.The p16 expression rate was 42.86% and the p53 expression rate was 71.42% in OMPSC samples.the expression of p16,p53 also showed statistically differences between the oral multiple primary squamous cell cancersand oral leukoplakia(P<0.05).2.The relationship between the expression of p16,p53 was related to clinical TNM stage and lymph node metastasis(P<0.05),but irrelevant to sex age and tobacco/alochol.(P>0.05).3.The expression of p16 was related to p53 in oral multiple primary squamous cell cancers and oral leukoplakia(P<0.05).Conclusions:1,p16 protein was malignant tissues related and related to clinical TNM stage lymph note metastasis, may as a sign of oncogenesis.2,the p53 protein detected in oral multiple primary squamous cell cancers, was related to clinical TNM stage lymph note metastasis,it suggested p53 had some value about evaluating prognosis of cancers. the inactivation of two genes may related to the oncogenesis and progression of oral multiple primary squamous cell cancers.
