Oral squamous cell carcinoma is the most common malignant tumor in the oral mucosa,it is often to the regional lymph node metastasis, the late may occur distant metastasis, the lower the degree of differentiation, the higher the degree of malignancy. Oral leukoplakia is the most common oral precancerous lesions, about 3%-5% of the oral leukoplakia will be transformed into oral squamous cell carcinoma. Oral lichen is a common oral mucosal disease, and it is considered that the oral lichen is a precancerous condition. As the most common oral mucosal malignant tumor, oral squamous cell carcinoma incidence rate is gradually increased, it has been a serious threatment to the people’s health. Therefore, the search for targeting the early diagnosis and treatment of oral squamous cell carcinoma to factor, for the prevention and treatment of oral squamous cell carcinoma have important significance. At present, the treatment of oral squamous cell carcinoma is mainly based on surgical operation, which can be assisted by radiotherapy and chemotherapy according to the location and the degree of malignancy. With the development of molecular biology, it is gradually realized that the changes of some genes can affect the occurrence and development of oral squamous cell carcinoma.Vasohibin-1(VASH1),which is induced in response to angiogenesis stimuli such as vascular endothelial factor(VEGF)and fibroblast growth-2(FGF-2),has recently been isolated as a novel negative feedbackinhibitor of angiogenesis. It plays important roles in the development of various tumors, such as inhibit angiogenesis, tumor lymphangiogenesis and lymphatic metastasis, which points it would polentially be a biomarker and a candidate for molecular targeted therapy for patients wirh cancer in the future. The expression of VASH1 in OSCC has not been reported in China. Objective: Study on vascular generated suppressor protein 1(vash1)in oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC), oral leukoplakia(olk) and oral lichen planus(OLP) expression and its significance, and explore the expression and the relationship between oral squamous cell carcinoma and pathological grading and lymph node metastasis, its significance in clinical application of analysis. Methods: Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of VASH1 in 60 cases of OSCC, 20 cases of OLK, 20 cases of OLP and20 cases of normal oral tissue.Results:1.The expression of VASH1 in OLP seems higher than that in NOM,but have no statistical significance(P>0.05);2.The expression of VASH1 in OLK are higher than that in NOM and OLP, and the difference has statistical significance(P<0.05);3.The positive expression of VASH1 protein in the OSCC is higher than that in NOM and OLP,the organization rate and staining intensity with decreasing degree of tissue differentiation and showed an increasing trend(P<0.05),and the expression in squamous cell carcinoma, poorly differentiated are significantly higher than that in OLK, the difference has statistical significance(P<0.05);4.Oral squamous cell carcinoma with lymph node metastsis group was significantly higher than that without lymph node metastasis group(P<0.05).Conclusion:From the precancerous state, precancerous lesion to squamous cell carcinoma, VASH1 plays a role in the occurrence and development of oral squamous cell carcinoma. The expression of VASH1 in oral squamous cell carcinoma has no correlation with the patient’s gender and age, but the higher the grade, the higher the degree of VASH1 expression was. Lymph node metastasis group was significantly higher than those without lymph node metastasis, which indicates VASH1 possibly closely relate to the oral squamous cell carcinoma occurrence, development and malignant degree, it may be as an important marker of oral mucosal malignant potential prediction in the future.
