The Clinical Observation Of Curativ Effect In Sudden Deafness Between Medication Alone And Medication With Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO)

Objective: This study is to explore and evaluate the therapeutic effect of medication alone and medication with hyperbaric oxygen (HBO) in sudden deafness, further to discuss the feasibility of medication with HBO in the treatment of sudden deafness.Methods:A retrospective study was performed, and 254 cases(312 ears) of medication treatment alone or medication with HBO treatment in sudden deafness were collected from the E.N.T. department of Qianfoshan hospital from May,2005 to May,2010.There were 129 cases of medication treatment alone and 124 cases of medication with HBO treatment. Compare the curative rate and overall effective rate of two groups to evaluate the curative effect of medication with HBO treatment in sudden deafness.Results:There were significant difference between medication treatment alone group and medication with HBO treatment group in curative rate(P<0.05).Also, There were significant difference between medication treatment alone group and medication with HBO treatment group in curative rate(P<0.05). No serious complications occurred.Conclusion:Under the conditions permit, there is a better curative effect of medication with HBO treatment in sudden deafness than medication alone treatment in sudden deafness.
