The four fingers push formulation is a kind of Tuina method for treating lumbar interverteb-ral disc herniation, which belongs to the category of TCM external therapy. It is elaborately-combined treatment method based on the experiential absorption on Tuina Department in Jiang Su Provincial TCM Hospital in the treatment of lumbar intervertebral disc herniation. This proje-ction makes further research and exploration on curative effects of four fingers push formulation in curing lumbar intervertebral disc herniation from the aspect of theoretical research and clinical research. Objective:To verify curative effects of four fingers push formulation in treating lumbar int-ervertebral disc herniation by observation on its clinical curative effects in treating lumbar inte-rvertebral disc herniation and comparison with the control group to provide clinical and theore-tical evidences for four fingers push formulation in treating lumbar intervertebral disc herniation so as to guide clinical treatment better. Methods:In theoretical part, cognitions of TCM ancient literature and ancient practitioners as well as Western medicine on this disease were reviewed and the present situation of TCM and Western medicine in treating lumbar intervertebral disc herniation was expounded to lay the the-oretical foundation for clinical studies. In the part of clinical research, randomly-grouped control method was adopted. Curative effects of four fingers push formulation in treating 30 cases with lumbar intervertebral disc herniation and curative effects of control groups (27 cases in routine Tuina group and 33 cases in medicine group) in curing lumbar intervertebral disc herniation. The recognized evaluation standard and statistical analysis were adopted to compare. Results:Four fingers push group had statistical significance compared with routine Tuina group and medicine group after treatment. The total effective rate four fingers push group was higher than routine Tuina group and medicine group after comparison among three groups. Conclusion:Four fingers push formulation, an effective Tuina method in the treatment lum-bar intervertebral disc herniation, has positive curative effects and is superior to other routine conservative methods. It has higher value in clinical application.
