Background:Urinary retention is one of complication after hemorrhoids operation. In order to relieve it, the common nursing method is urethral catheterization, but the pain stimulate in the process of urethral catheterization and urinary irritation symptom caused by placing a urinary catheter, often give patients psychological and physiological effects, such as the urgent urination, urethra pain, abdominal distention and fidgeting etc., it incidence is about 96.6%As the living standard rising, the people demands the quality of life is higher and higher, painless and comfortable medical service become the new trend of development of hospital. Therefore nursing staff began to pay attention to operate urethral catheterization without pain and improving the comfort of patientsAt present, the researches in urethral catheterization with painless mainly aimed at the surgical patients after anesthesia, but that need an anesthesiologist monitoring, which hinders the spread and using in the ward, and often lead the patients to fidget during waking, because lack of an adaptive process of general anesthesia.there were other reports that urethral perfusion with lidocaine hydrochloride before urethra catheterization[3-4], but the operation of it also brought some discomfort to patients. So in search of a method of urethral catheterization that more economical, effective and applicability becomes the common topic of nurses. Objective:This study adapt to the national trend that energetically improve the basic-level medical service and establish service concept that provide comfortable nursing to patients. Actively looking for a method of painless urethral catheterization to improve patient comfort.that more economical, more effective appropriate promote in clinical ward and without increasing medical burden of patients, reduce the pain and alleviate the mucosa damage while help to relieve the urethral stimulating symptoms after urethral catheterization,Methods: The research studied by the method of dividing into groups.it divide the patients who meet the requirements into experimental group and control group. The patients of control group use the conventional method to operate the urethral catheterization the patients of experimental group use 2% lidocaine hydrochloride twice in the process of catheterization.then observing two methods caused differences of pain, urethral mucosa damage and urinary irritation symptoms in the process of catheterization, finally make a comparative analysis. Results:Researches show that there have no differences of pain levels between two groups before urethral catheterization (p.>0.01), but after experiment the pain level of patients in experimental group are less than the control group's(P< 0.01).While the mucosa damage (P<0.01) and urinary irritation symptoms (P<0.01)after urethral catheterization with lidocaine hydrochloride showed obvious difference that the experimental group patients were obviously improved.Meaning:This study selected patients that urinary retention after hemorrhoid operation, due to the particularity of the surgical site which lead to the highly sensitive of pain of these patients, and the sense of pain caused by catheterization severer than others who with common urinary retention. But the painless urethral catheterization which use of 2% lidocaine hydrochloride twice in process of operation,it not only shows the effect significantly in alleviating pain and reduce the urinary mucosa damage, but also effective alleviate the urinary irritation symptoms. So this method is also applicable to other patients of urinary retention but the patient after genitourinary surgery,It Particularly suitable for application in basic-level medical department, it not only can save medical costs, improve comfort, and can improve the quality of medical service, embody the principle of people-oriented service.
