Observation Of Curative Effect Of Qing Chang HuaShi Method Treating Active Ulcerative Colitis Of Damp-heat Syndrome

Objective To observe the clinical effect of QingChangHuaShi method treating active ulcerative colitis of damp-heat syndrome and also to evaluate the safety of this method.Methods According to the principle of randomization and contrast, The 60 cases ulcerative colitis were divided into test group (30 cases) and control group (30 cases).The test group was given QingChangHuaShiFang (p.o.) and GuanChangFang (enem.) for 12 weeks,while the control group was given Mesalazine (5-ASA) 4g/d.Compare the variation of symptom, erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR),C-reactive protein (CRP), colonoscopy and pathological efficacy and the remission rates,and monitor the safety index.Results At the end of the treatment, the effect of test group improving hematochezia and Overall symptoms were better than the control group((P<0.05). The two groups could improved diarrhea,abdominal pain,abdominal distension, anal burning,tenesmus, ESR,CRP, colonoscopy and pathology, but there were no statistical difference between the two groups. There were no statistical difference in the mucosal healing rates (50.0%vs43.3%) and the remission rates (50.0%vs43.3%) between the two groups.There was that ALT of only 1 patient of control group rose in test.Conclusion QingChangHuaShi method was effective and safety in treating active ulcerative colitis of damp-heat syndrome,and were better than 5-ASA in improving hematochezia and overall symptoms.
