The Intervention Of Tongmai Grain' Treatment Effect On Patients With Hypertensive Retinopathy

Objectives:To observe the change of hemomleology, retinopathy and symptom in patients with hypertension retinopathy to verify the clinical effect of Tongmai Grain and to explore the mechanism of treatment on hypertension retinopathy so as to provide the evidence for clinical popularization.Methods:120 patients chosen according to diagnosis standards were randomly divided into two groups.80 patients were given the Tongmai Grain composed by Chinese herbs while the control group with 40 patients wcre given the western medicines, then compared the changes in blood pressure, hemomleology, retinopathy and TCM symptom of both groups after 8-weeks treatment.Results:Although the blood pressures in both groups were insignificant difference before and after treatment, the patient' hemomleology in Tongmai Grain group became better, and were significant difference compared with the contrast group (P< 0.05) after 8-weeks treating. The same trend with the relief of retinopathy (P< 0.01), the total effective rate of treatment group and control group were separately 92.5% and 62.5%.Conclusions:Tongmai Grain can obviously improve TCM symptoms and signs, and has better effects on patients with Phlegm-dampness type, Blood-stasis type and Qi-deficiency type, compared with yin-deficiency type. Meanwhile, Tongmai Grain can improve the eyesight by recovering the function of retinal. Tongmai Grain in the treating process had not discovered other poisonous adverse reactions.
