Canine Coronavirus disease, with gastroenteritis as the main symptoms,is a kind of Canine coronavirus (Canine Coronavirus, CCV) which can causecontagious dog disease. Many researches have shown that Caninecoronavirus is the key pathogens causes dog gastroenteritis, which isespecially dangerous for underage puppies, and often leads to rapid death dueto acute diarrhea, vomiting and dehydration. Dogs of different varieties andages can be infected by CVV, especially for the puppies, and then the diseasemay quickly spread to other dogs of all ages. In some areas, CVV hasbecome increasingly harmful for Kennel industry after distemper, canineparvovirus enteritis and hepatitis. Therefore, it is imperative to carry out theresearch on CVV.A clinical analysis has been implemented in this study on10pethospitals' records of448cases of Canine Coronavirus incidences in Shanghaiarea from September2010to August2011. The epidemiologicalcharacteristics of Canine Coronavirus are researched on through thestatistical analysis on time of onsets, the incidences of dog breeds, dog ages, etc. The conclusions of Canine Coronavirus incidence are as follows:1. In the cases treated, it has been proved that dogs less than6monthsand purebred dogs are more susceptible to infection, but no significantdifferences exist between different breeds of dogs. Pekingese has got the highest fatality rate, while the hybrid dogs has got much lower. ThatPoodle,Shih Tzu,Pekingese have got much higher infection rate may alsohave great relationship to the quantity of these dogs the residents have breedis also bigger.2. In this research, significant differences of infection have beenfound between dogs of different ages from the different infection rate andpathogenesis rate. It has been shown that dogs less than3months of ageaccounted for62.05%of the total incidences, while3to6-month-old dogsaccounted for24.11%, which may due to the decrease or disappearance ofmaternal antibodies and the dogs' own immune functions are not fullydeveloped yet. Dogs more than12months of age incidences accounted only2.01%of the total which have shown that adult dogs have a certain resistanceto the CVV disease.3. A comparison has been made between the treatment effect of fivedifferent treatment methods in the study, the dog group used Anti-CCV serum, intravenous injection of dog serum albumin, intravenous dogs immuneglobulin and interferon therapy have got the best therapeutic effects, and thetotal effect rate reached93.75%,followed by the dog groups used Anti-CCVserum and Interferon;the Anti-CCV serum, intravenous injection of dogserum albumin and intravenous treatment of canine immunoglobulin;Anti-CCV serum treatment; and the dog group treated with Antiviraltreatment has got the worst effect, with total total effect rate reached62.5%.
