Along with the booming of social economy and the drastic changing in our society, the problems which are related to the elderly and the disabled are also increasingly intensifies. It is a very notable important topic that making the elderly and the disabled enjoying convenient conditions which are the same with ordinary people at the circumstance of current urban road traffic conditions.After understanding the actuality of lift platform at home and abroad and the present situation of disabled as well as the requirements of the development of city bus, design a kind of automatic lifter using in urban bus for disabled and elderly people. Firstly, having analyzed the requirements of the automatic lifter and having understood the mechanical design to achieve requirement, mechanical structure is confirmed, in comparison with several other mechanical structure designs of the automatic lifter. The various agencies of the design process are elaborated detailed. This paper uses the PRO/ENGINEER3.0 as the software to mechanism modeling and motion simulation. After analyzing the existing problems of this design ,some solution is put forward in Summary and Outlook chapter.The automatic lifter control system is designed on the basis of the mechanical structure design. The control system adopts ATmega16 as the controller, which is manufactured by the company of Atmel. TB6560 is choosing as stepping motor drive chip which is based on selection of stepping motor. Peripheral circuit is also finished. The system includes LCD display module, keystroke module, voice alarm module etc. ALTIUM is chosen as the using software to draw the circuit diagram of the controlling system. Finally, finite state machine which is a programming idea is optimized to the software of control program. Subroutines and program design their respective chart flow is finished which is based on the hardware circuit modules. Considering the complexity of the external environment, the anti-interference ability of the hardware and software system is made which is resulting in the corresponding improvement and optimization for improving the system.
