Research On Quality Management And Control Of Steel Structural Projects

With the extensive engineering application of steel structures in China, a great number of quality problems are detected, and accidents of construction occur frequently. Steel structure as high-tech engineering, its design and installation standards should be very strict. While accidents occur, especially big ones, it will cause great casualties and property loss. Therefore, high-quality control system of steel structure is important to be established.Based on quality control methods and theories of steel structure engineering, referring to examples of steel structure quality control, this paper introduces the project quality management theories and basic concepts of quality control and management. Then, from the technical feathers of the steel structure and the process of the project, this paper analyzes the main quality problems such as chemical defects, machining defects, connecting defects, and confirms the key influencing factors existing by applying the fishbone figure. The thesis builds a quality control system for steel structures which is based on the "PDCA" cycle and three full control theory, and introduces the statistical methods to control of steel structural projects, such like control chart, quality distribution map. Third, this paper proposes the control methods in terms of different stages of quality control, such as design stage, construction stage, acceptance stage, and extracts the key links in controlling the quality of steel structures. Finally, using the theories and methods proposed in the paper, a steel structure quality controlling case is studied to analyze quality controlling methods and processes, aiming at improving steel structure quality management standards, optimizing the quality of management and finally improving the quality of construction products.
