| Nowadays with the rapid development of our civilization and industrialization the conflictbetween human activities and environment is becoming a more and more eyes-catchingproblem of the academic circus. As a complex utility involves both building construction andfollowing consuming the city residential area has great impact on environment undoubtedly. Sothere are more and more studies about the evaluating of green building or green residential. Allthese studies are mean to build up an overall, reasonable and operational system to evaluate theenvironmental impact of all kinds of constructions including residential. There are somesuccessful achievements like: BREEAM of UK, LEED of USA, and domestic Green BuildingEvaluation Standards. All these evaluate different kinds of buildings from different aspects andusing different methods. This article will introduce and compare all of them.The ecological footprint theory is thriving in1990'. Nowadays it is usually used inregional planning and circular economy. It is rarely be used in the building construction field.The main purpose of this article is figuring out how to evaluating the city green residential areaby using the ecological footprint theory.The two stages: construction and operation of the city green residential area both require alot of resources from the environment and giving mountains of waste to it. All the impact refersto the big footprints on the ecological productive lands---the ecological footprint. This articlewill look the city green residential as an organic utinity and analyze its ecological systeminfluence so that a completed and easy-operational city residential area's EF indicator systemcan be built up. All the indicators of this system must can be calculated. Then this article willgive the detailed measurement of how we get the original statistics and how we get the finaloutput. In the system, there are many kinds of resources are not produced by the ecologicalproductive lands but they maybe can be transferred to be form of energy or currency. Thisarticle will use the concepts such as energy-currency transaction rate, weight-energy transactionrate and energy density of land to calculate the special indicators so that the unit of all theindicators can be unified. Finally there will be an actual case to be calculated its annulecological footprint using the method of this article. Then the author will compare the numberof the case's ecological footprint with the ecological load capacity of the related region. Whenthe footprint of the case is more than the regional ecological load capacity, the case is in thedeficit situation so there should be some measurement to reduce the negative impact of the case.When the footprint of the case is less than the regional ecological load capacity, the case is inthe surplus situation so there must be some great experience for us. |
