This thesis mainly chose two typical and representative cases which were Kuan Zhai alley in Chengdu and Ciqikou alley in Chongqing and analysis the vital factors of current vitalities in them from traditional residential culture angle and also the potential vitalities in historical block.Established the factor system of the vitalities in historical block and demonstrated the vital factors to sustain and develop a historical block are related to social, cultural and even the propaganda model of it beside the physical environment. The essay practice the restoring strategies of the vitalities in historical block by an example of conceptual design of the Fuxue lane of historical block Beilin in Xian which added the traditional residential culture to modern architectural design. Combined with vital factors system the essay induced the overall strategies of restoration of the vitalities in historical block.
