A Study On The Strategies For Enhancing Public Space Vitality In Qingdao Dabaodao Historic District

In recent years,the pursuit of economic benefits has led to the demolition and reconstruction of historical blocks.The traditional buildings,historical features,and street patterns of the blocks have been destroyed,leading to the loss of traditional culture,the decline in quality of life,and the migration of residents.The vitality of public spaces has obviously declined.The central government and governments at all levels are emphasizing the protection of historical and cultural features,orderly implementing urban repair work and organic renewal work,and restoring the function and vitality of the old city.Under this background,relevant departments and scholars have strengthened the research on the vitality of the blocks and explored the people-oriented block construction model.The advancement of science and technology has changed the way of life of human beings.The external public spaces that carry people's necessary activities are gradually occupied by non-essential activities such as culture,leisure,entertainment,etc.,and the study of public spaces has become more complicated.Traditional,singular,and subjective urban research methods have not been able to explore the essence of urban problems well,and require the comprehensive application of various research methods to complement each other and better study urban problems.With the advent of the information age,more and more information technologies are used in urban research and construction,providing new ideas and methods for urban research.On this basis,this article makes an in-depth study on the vitality of the public space in Qingdao's Dabaodao Historic District.First of all,through the literature on the vitality of public space in historical blocks and the influencing factors of vitality,combined with the successful case study of Kuanzhai Alley historical block in Chengdu,this paper explores the vitality research system of public space in historical blocks.The research system refers to three dimensions(blocks Level,street level,and vitality perception level),using three research methods(POI data analysis method,traditional survey method,IPA importance-satisfaction analysis method),and four influencing factors(activities)on the public space vitality of historical blocks Population,material space,functional space,cultural attributes).Then,the above research system is used to investigate and study the vitality of the public space of Dabaodao historical block,and summarize and analyze the vitality characteristics and existing problems of Dabaodao historical block.Secondly,this article discusses the performance characteristics of vibrant historical blocks and how to create vibrant historical blocks,and enlighten and think about the vitality of public spaces,and draws the relationship between historical culture and the vitality of blocks and the sharing of space to the vitality of streets.Finally,this paper summarizes the double-sided public space vitality promotion model of Dabaodao historical block based on the actual situation,and proposes the strategy of promoting public space vitality at the block level based on cultural communication and the strategy of public space vitality at the street level based on space sharing.
