The products improvement design is quite different with the original design. It is a significant content of quality improvement and is also the specific reflection of the continual improving demand of the modern quality control. The products improving design is an effective way to increase customer satisfaction, to reduce the cost and to enhance competitiveness of a company.The paper introduced the concept of design and improvement design, and analysed the effect of driving factors on the products improvement design. customer satisfaction, the cost of product design, and economic efficiency build model of products.With bring improvement indexes into optimization decision model of improvement design, improvement design be carried out according by the needs of customers, and avoid the defects of make decision of weighted improvement index subjective by designers. Considering products cost, making quantitative estimations,and support decision-making better with more datas. Considering quality cost of product lifecycle, quality income and enterprise economic benefits, make the economic efficiency of industrial enterprises maximize as target function, then analyze the problem of best opportunity for decision making of improvement design with the model of quality cost based on product lifecycle.Finally, applying the results of theory research into the improvement design analysis of an air-conditioning company and another company of generators set. Application research results indicate that the model which is proposed in this paper could apply into the design decision analysis of the improved design of manufacturing products.
