With China's rapid and sound economic development, it has been revealed to the public that the large and medium-sized cities of domestic cars contradict the growing popularity of premium urban centers. As a matter of fact, extending from static to dynamic spectrum, parking on traffic lanes and minor parking etc. directly resulting from parking space shortages have become a major traffic problem in these cities. Therefore, tackling parking problems has become a key procedure in comprehensively solving urban traffic problems. The automated parking equipment, an integration of mechanics and electronics, is increasingly being used in urban areas. It provides a new solution to traffic problems as it's effective in land use; adaptable to types of grounds, flexible to integrate to the specific needs of customers, and also safe, reliable and energy-saving.Taking into consideration of the real scenario of China's buildings and construction lots, this article expounds the automated parking equipment diverse type and use. Besides, it describes by the case of the 31-lot parking equipment, the mechanical and electrical layout program, design features and the environment coordination of such lifting and side moving automated parking equipment. Furthermore, the article briefly illustrates the parking device's working principle, operating measures, control requirements and monitoring methods. It proposes use of PLC in the device to achieve vehicle access control and the design of software flowchart, as well as selection options of electronic components, power supply and ground protection.According to the overall situation of the parking industry in China, the author combines current domestic and foreign intelligent parking system on the development profile, analyzes the market prospect and states the effect and role as well as the composition, function and software technology of the automated parking equipment in urban traffic system.
