In the 21st century, low-carbon economy has become an important way to address climate change. Low carbon economy has become the new force to lead the economic growth and low carbon city becomes the only way for sustainable urbanization, changing the mode of development of combat climate change is increasingly becoming the international community consensus. Suzhou City, after the rapid development since the reform and opening up, its total economic output, open economy, cities and towns are facing a transition to promote the development of the gateway. The city must establish through the construction of low-carbon strategy to achieve sustainable development, environmental protection from passive to active the environment, economic development and improve the environment to form interaction pattern.In this thesis, the theory of domestic low-carbon city, methods, and advanced low-carbon city's case summary, based on the application of the first cities in China Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory Urban-RAM model, energy consumption and carbon Suzhou row of quantitative analysis. Urban-RAM model is based on life cycle assessment tool for rapid assessment of urban energy, the core idea is that the city is divided into indirect energy consumption and carbon emissions, direct and indirect carbon emissions and energy consumption and carbon emissions directly. Making comparison of Suzhou and Shenzhen: Suzhou, obtained the overall energy consumption and carbon emissions of the important conclusions: the uneven distribution of the carbon footprint, meaning a large proportion of emissions; by the construction quality of life and building material, the construction sector the highest proportion of carbon emissions, urban transport sector accounts for one third in second place; waste less efficient, the second carbon emissions will be ignored. Urban-RAM model based on low-carbon city-building strategy of Suzhou made the following conclusions: strategy of breaking low-carbon life cycle problem of indirect emissions is too high; using green transport oriented urban transport strategy for cracking the problem of excessive emissions; using energy-saving buildings construction emissions strategy to promote high crack problems.
