Development Of New Knitted Product With Jutecell Fiber And Its Performance Study

Jutecell usually named as "Natural breathing" eco-textile fiber is a kind of new cellulose fiber which is produced with 100% natural and reproducible jute. This paper has explored Jutecell fiber properties fully to develop relevant knitted fabric with comfort and health, good ventilation and breathable performance, which will not only provide theoretical basis and guidance to related researchers and companies, but also be of great significance to the promotion of Jutecell.Firstly, in this paper, the physical and mechanical properties of Jutecell yarn and Jutecell/cotton, were researched, including breaking strength, elongation, twist, hairiness and moisture regain, etc. Siro spinning yarn and siro compact spinning yarn were selected. Breaking strength of Jutecell yarn is lower than Jutecell/cotton's, but its elongation is bigger than Jutecell/cotton's. The yarn's twist is designed among 60 and 82 (T/10cm), which is suitable for knitting yarn requirements. Yarn surface is smooth, the hairiness is short and less. Yarn moisture is about 11.65%, which is better than cotton's.Secondly, weaving technology and product development key points to Jutecell knitted fabric were analyzed.15 kinds of Jutecell relevant knitted fabric selecting Jutecell, Jutecell/cotton, cotton, polyester, Modal yarn, etc. as material, were developed. Fabric structure includes plain stitch, rib stitch and double-layer fabric. Also the rigid nature, drape, abrasion resistance, moisture management, breathability and thermal insulation performance were tested. The results show that Jutecell knitted fabrics have good flexibility, slip, moisture management, breathability and poor abrasion resistance. At the same time, Gray Comprehensive Evaluation Theory was chose to conduct a comprehensive evaluation for Jutecell fabrics, which showed that Jutecell knitted fabric is better fit to spring and summer clothing, but polyester-cover-Jutecell is very suitable for autumn and winter wear.Finally, "Two-Step Bleaching" was chose for Jutecell knitted bleaching. During dyeing process, select the M-type dyes(M3BE) to explore the dyeing influence to fabric performance, showing that Jutecell knitted is easy to dye, dyed uniform with bright color, and there were some changes among moisture management, breathability and thermal insulation performance.
