| The feature of the wool knitted fabric compared with other knitted fabrics is that it is extensible, elastic, flexible, warm and breathable. At present, the price of super fine wool is high and it is in short supply. This paper introduces material research, product development and performance research of the thin wool knitted fabric, which is helpful to develop the thin wool knitted fabric.This study aims at carrying on an investigation into the preceding disposal of poly/wool blending yarn before warp knitting; it also includes a research into the finishing technology of weft knitted woolen grey cloth. Till now, less are devoted into the research and development of woolen warp knitting fabric whether inside or outside of our country. The prime materials which can be used on the warp knitting machines are manmade filaments as well as several kinds of natural staple yarns. In order to meet the needs of warp knitting requirement, we use the methods of compact spinning, wrapping the yarn with nylon. By comparing the experimental tests, the compact spinning yarn, after wrapping or plying, the tensile strength and elongation of yarn are obviously advanced, for part of the wrapped yarn or plied yarn is nylon and the feature of nylon is that it is extensible, elastic and high tensile strength. After wrapping or plying, we can see a noticeable decline in the number of hairiness. And the evenness of wrapped yarn is slightly increased, whereas the evenness of plied yarn is slightly decreased.There are many factors to affect the quality of wool fabric, besides material, the quality of yarn and product design technology, the finishing process plays a crucial role in improving product quality, which can be achieved by changing processing technology and choosing reasonable technological parameter. Different from spinning and knitting, finishing has considerable resilience. Reasonable finishing process will fully performs elastic, warm, stiff and smooth of wool.The density and thickness of the knitted fabric which is knitted by wrapping yarn is increased; the fabric becomes more thickness and heavy and fluffy. The air permeability of knitted fabric which is knitted by wrapping yarn is inferior to the knitted fabric which is knitted by compact yarn, primarily because the density of knitted fabric which is knitted by wrapping yarn is greater than the knitted fabric which is knitted by compact yarn. The bursting strength and mechanical properties of the knitted fabric which is knitted by wrapping yarn is improved greatly, and the anti-pilling property and dimension stability is also remarkable improved.Wool is one of the most important raw materials in textile industry; it has a lot of merits, such as good elasticity, strong moisture absorption and so on. We can use warp or weft knitting machines to make woolen fabrics, which can be applied in our design of summer wear; it possesses wonderful end use and will have an open vast market. |
