The Achievements And Problems Of Cooperation Between China And Africa Environmental Research

Since the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment in 1972, China and Africa countries have developed a long-term environmental-protection cooperation with fruitful efforts at many international conferences, which boosts the development of international environment diplomacy and sticks up for the interests of developing countries. In the 21st century, greater environmental-protection successes have been achieved towards deeper, broader and higher level based on the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. Thus, that leads to a mutual advance in China-Africa's environment, economy, politics and society. Now the cooperation is in a new and increasingly urgent phrase. The cooperation is meaningful and has a positive effect on the whole development of China-Africa relations in the new era. Facing the chance and challenge, the outlook is broad. It is imperative to focus on the cooperation from the strategic level, which will support the peaceful rise in the future and fulfill the practice of harmonious world. Based on the equality and mutual benefit, the cooperation is with the characteristics of none-political strings, diplomatic transition based on the traditional friendship, sticking up for the interests of developing countries and boosting the development of international equity and justice, promoting mechanism to develop multilaterally environmental-protection cooperation and focusing on the African ability to construct their own environmental-protection. China pursues common development in multilateral cooperation to publicize an environmental idea in all aspects, and stresses on the supervision and fulfillment. However, there are differences and inconsistencies in energy, climate change, Chinese enterprises and mechanism construction, which need to be dealt with. Thus, all have put forward demands on China's internal development and have challenged the environmental diplomacy of China from a new angle.
