Underground comprehensive pipeline network, like the "lifeline" of the city, is an important infrastructure of the city, however, due to various reasons, the traditional underground pipeline network management mode can no longer meet the needs of people's lives and production. In recent years, geographic information system (GIS) has the rapid development in not only theoretical research but also practical applications. Especially the proposed of "Digital City" promotes the development of GIS more vigorously. Among these, the three-dimensional GIS, with its advantages in the visualization and three-dimensional spatial analysis, is paid more and more attention.This research describes the concept of three-dimensional GIS, data model, data structure and so on, highlights the technology of three-dimensional visualization. Based on the carefully study of the existing pipeline network management information systems home and abroad. The research proposes the technical process of building3D campus underground pipeline network GIS system. The system uses ArcGIS Engine as the development components. The research chooses Nanjing University Jinling Institute as the experimental area, achieves the basic functions of the system like three-dimensional visualization, information inquiry,and so on, but spatial analysis function of the underground pipeline network is still very weak and requires further in-depth study. |
