Vendor Managed Inventory Environment, Auto Parts Procurement Logistics Research

The article has proposed to put VMI into the purchasing logistics of auto parts, owing to the practical problems in domestic vehicle industry. A new logistics system has been established basing on VMI theory and the developing surroundings. The writer hope that the thinking ways and management environment will be promoted by using VMI in purchasing logistics of Chinese auto parts.Firstly, the importance of auto parts purchasing logistics should be highlighted. After introducing the VMI theory, the writer describe the processes of purchasing logistics under traditional and VMI surroundings in simple supply chain. The new established system is made up of six factors, including suppliers, warehouses, orders, transportation, inventory and materials. The writer analyses deeply the transportation and the inventory of the new logistics system. By the example, the writer testify that the new logistics system by using VMI benefit for the Chinese automobile industry.
