Industry Cluster Competitiveness Analysis

Industry clusters around the world are an important part of economic development, whether in developed or in developing countries, they are remarkable economic phenomenon. Since the beginning of reform and opening up, China's southeastern coastal region which is dependent on a number of industry clusters gather efficiently achieved great economic advantages, such as professional town in Guangdong province, and specialized industry district and "massive economy" in Zhejiang province. Industry clusters have become increasingly concerned as the hot, and the key is in that many enterprises in the form of clusters in the market competition showed great competitiveness. Industry clusters with their strong competitiveness plays an important impact on the regional economy and industry competitiveness, and thus, this paper chooses the competitiveness of industrial clusters for the study.Introduction of the paper introduces the theory and practice background, and briefly reviews researches both at home and abroad on the competitiveness of industry clusters.In part one, I introduces the connotation of industrial clusters competitiveness. Firstly I introduce the relevant theories on industry clusters, including the concept of industry clusters, classification and characteristics. Subsequently on the basis of predecessors'understanding about the connotation of industry clusters competitive basis, by analyzing and summarizing, I give a comparatively explicit definition of industry cluster competitiveness. And according to a competitive process model in the World Economic Forum, I introduced a competitive industry clusters process model. Finally I briefly analyze the significance of the industry clusters competitiveness in region and nation.In part two, I introduce the nature of the competitiveness of industry clusters, performance and causes. By analyzing the competitiveness of industries with organizational power, collaboration power and innovation power, and generalizing the production cost advantages, market competitiveness, technological innovation advantages showed by the competitiveness of industrial clusters.
