A Study On The Impact Of ASEAN Trade Facilitation On China - ASEAN Trade

The products trade between China-ASEAN has been kept developing quickly, after the establishment of China-ASEAN Free Trade Area,the trade barriers and trade friction have significantly reduced and bilateral trade share have grew rapidly. Now the ASEAN has became the third largest trade partner of China, it is the area we import energy and agricultural products, it is also the important regions from where we export mechanical and electrical, metal products,chemical industry and related industrial products, textiles, clothing, and the high-tech products. Therefore ensure the progress of bilateral trade is very significant for the economic and trade development of China.With the development of economic globalization, trade facilitation has attached great attention. In this article, we want to find the association of what impact will put on our country’s product trade if the trade facilitation level of ASEAN has improved. This paper use port effect, customs environment, rules and regulations environment, and e-commerce as a measure system of the index. By using the gravity model to analyze the influence degree of each indicator will put on the import and export of our country. The empirical results show that: First, port effect, regulation environment and e-commerce indicator have passed the test of significance in both import and export products trade of China, this three indicators can be able to promote Chinese products import and export to ASEAN effectively; But customs environment indicator didn’t pass the significance test in the import trade model of China, the impact of the change of ASEAN customs environment is not obvious on Chinese import trade. Second, the port effect indicator has the most important affection on China-ASEAN product trade, after this indicator are the electronic commerce, regulations and the environment, the influence degree of the regulatory environment for product trade is the weakest among these four indicators. In order to ensure the rapid growth of import and export product trade of China-ASEAN, it is very necessary to raising the level of trade facilitation in the ASEAN region. China should give full play to its role, actively guide the countries in the region to enhance the inter-connection of infrastructure construction, building a unified logistics standards, developing e-commerce trade, strengthen the promotion of cross-border of science and technology,accelerating the circulation of relevant personnel to boost the trade facilitation.Make sure that the Chinese products trade with ASEAN countries will have more comprehensive, rapid and sound development.
