Study On Food And Drug Safety Supervision System In Shaanxi Province

In recent years, the safety of food and drugs has been in a severe situation worldwidely. Thus, many countries have been carrying out the food and drug safety supervision system reforms. Against the background of the transformation of the central government, China is actively exploring the way to establish an effective food and drug safety supervision system. Shaanxi province, with its abundant natural resources, is in the Asian part of the new Eurasian Continental Bridge and is the gateway to the southwestern, northwestern, northern and central China. The issues of food and drug safety are more prominent here. As one aspect of improving people’s livelihood, strengthening the supervision of food and drug safety is one of the major concerns of the government of Shaanxi province.This thesis focuses on the studies of the food and drug safety supervision system of Shaanxi province, explaining its development, current situation and some existing problems. Taking Weinan City as an example, the problems existing in the basic level areas are also analysed extensively. Moreover, the supervision models of other countries and Shenzhen City are described. Using the advanced models and experience for reference, this thesis puts forward some practical suggestions on how to establish a more complete food and drug safety supervision system, such as giving a closed-loop supervision from farms to dinner tables, encouraging gilds and the public to take part in the supervision, setting up the cross-functional communication mechanism and a sound inspecting and testing system, etc.
